Croatian Villa Luxury Holiday Apartments Affordable Rents

Essentials

Language

The local language is Croat but English is taught as a second language in schools and is widely spoken. You are unlikely to find any difficulty being understood in English.

Shopping

groceries

You can get most of your basic needs for food etc. in Mavarcica or Okruk Gornji. In high season there is a local shop only 5 minutes walk away. At other times a 5-minute car journey is necessary. For more exotic items or a wider choice you need to go to Trogir or Split.

In addition to make your stay easier we provide a service to collect and deliver your grocery shopping - both for your arrival and during your stay.

Laundry

We can also offer a laundry and ironing service if you need it.

Health

red cross

There are reciprocal arrangements between the UK and Croatia which means you should get free treatment in a hospital if you are unlucky enough to need it.

There is an English speaking doctor close to the apartments - if needed.

Money

credit cards

The Croatian currency is the Kuna which is divided into 100 lipas. Exchange rates vary over time but as a rough guide dividing Kunas by 10 will give you UK pounds.

Banks and Bureaux de Change will happily exchange UK pounds, US dollars and Euros. Cash machines are available in most small towns and will work with UK credit cards. Many have an option for English language instructions on how to withdraw cash.

Plugging In

Electricity in Croatia is 220 volts, 50 hertz which is compatible with most European equipment. UK residents will need a 2 pin socket converter.

Emergencies
